"For all I know today, I owe gratitude to my beloved guides and teachers, who have patiently and attentively supported me on my journey towards Wisdom."

Katka Rojková

I have been practicing yoga for over 25 years and have been sharing my experiences in classes, workshops, and retreats for the past 16 years. I draw inspiration from a variety of sources.

  • Studying at MU in the field of religious studies with a focus on Eastern cultures, especially Hinduism and Buddhism, provided me with a solid foundation.

  • Long-term stays in Indian ashrams allowed me to experience an authentic approach to yogic life.

  • Over the years, I have had the opportunity to practice with excellent teachers, both Indian and European, and I am very grateful for that.

Yoga practice

Yoga is the unveiling of awareness, when practiced authentically, it leads to simplicity, calmness and clarity

In my practice, I am interested in self-kindness, awareness of gravity, natural calm breathing, a meditative quality, and lightness of movement. Yoga teaches me to be present, enriches my experience of life, brings softness, and opens new horizons of spaciousness and inner freedom.

Transformation of teaching

The way I lead my classes is gradually evolving, and today I don't stick to fixed Ashtanga Vinyasa sequences so much. What is essential for me is the specific needs of the participant and the good feeling they take away after the class.

Basic principles

The main thread running through all my teaching is the understanding that the body is an incredibly intelligent instrument. When guided kindly through natural, calm breathing, an individual approach, and the use of deep muscle layers, it opens us to the experience of profound quality. this quality then transforms everyday life. What matters most is the constant cultivation of mindfulness and self-reflection.

India

My second home

I have been returning to India regularly for over 20 years. I love the local culture - it is inspiring, colourful, and expands the boundaries of perception and established ideas.

The roots of my practice

I have been most influenced by traditional Indian Hatha yoga, yoga therapy, and the dynamic systems of Ashtanga Vinyasa and Pranavashya, which I have been practicing for over 20 years. My long-standing collaboration with physiotherapists has also shaped my approach. Philosophically, I am rooted in the non-dual system of Yoga and original Indian tantra

Today, I see yoga as a natural path inward to myself

I am inspired by the principle of "turning inward" through quality breath and a meditative state of calming, as well as by working with the deep muscles and pelvic floor, which bring a healing dimension to yoga and enrich everyday life.
